DISASTER SERVICES |

Our volunteers ensure that people are
safe and have the assistance they need. They help those affected by
disasters like fire, floods and winter storms with food, clothing and
shelter, as well as mental health support and financial assistance.

HEALTH AND SAFETY EDUCATION |

Our volunteers teach classes in CPR/First
Aid, Babysitting Training Classes, and
Pet First Aid. Currently, CPR/First Aid classes are offered at the
Winchester/Frederick County Office. Call 540-662-5412 to enroll.

ARMED FORCES EMERGENCY SERVICES |

The Red Cross also provides emergency
communications between members of the military and their families.
Armed Forces Emergency Services (AFES) volunteers help relatives
contact their loved ones in the military with news such as illness,
death of a loved one or even the joyous birth of a newborn baby!

TRANSPORTATION |

Red Cross volunteers will take people to
local medical appointments. The transportation is free to anyone who
is ambulatory. Call 635-2333 to schedule your ride.

VOLUNTEERING |

Red Cross volunteers help people prevent,
prepare for and respond to emergencies in so many ways…from assisting
a family who lost their home to a fire to teaching important
lifesaving skills. Our vital work would not be possible without these
dedicated people, who learn how good it can feel to lend a helping
hand. Our volunteers get back as much as they give, including
satisfaction, fulfillment, enrichment and gratification.

Support for our essential lifesaving services to the community we
serve is derived in large part from gifts from individuals and
proceeds from special events. We all have to look out for each other.
