DISASTER SERVICES |

The Red Cross offers
courses in shelter operations, mass care and shelter simulation.
Volunteers on the Disaster Action Team help arrange services for those
affected by disasters like fire, floods and winter storms. Call the
office at 635-2333 for more information or call Sue Campbell at
635-1387. The Disaster Action Team meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month
and the public is encouraged to attend.

CPR / FIRST AID |

Includes CPR, identifying
and caring for breathing and cardiac emergencies for adults, children
and infants, and first aid for control of bleeding, sudden illness and
burns. The program is designed to give you confidence to respond to an
emergency situation with skills that can save a life. You can also
become a health and safe instructor. Classes are currently offered at
the Winchester/Frederick County Office. Call 662-5412 to register.

PET FIRST AID |

This class teaches how to
protect your pet from injury, what to do if your pet is choking, not
breathing, bleeding or has possible broken bones. It covers treatment
for shock, poisoning, snakebites, sudden illness including
carsickness, and heat or cold emergencies. Call 635-2333 for
information.

TRANSPORTATION |

Red Cross volunteers will take people to
local medical appointments. The transportation is free to anyone who
is ambulatory. Call 635-2333 to schedule your ride.

BABYSITTING TRAINING |

Learn how to prevent
transmission of germs, when and whom to call during different
emergency situations, how to recognize a breathing emergency, the
steps to control bleeding. Call 635-2333 for information. |
